Traffic restrictions during Brașov Running Festival – October 4-5

From October 3-5, traffic in Brașov will be temporarily restricted on several streets due to Brașov Running Festival - Romania’s premier annual athletic event. The festival features the tRUNsylvania International 10K, the only World Athletics Elite Label-certified 10 km road race in Southeast Europe.

To ensure that both local and world-class runners can safely enjoy the experience—and potentially set personal, European, or even world records—the organizers, in collaboration with local authorities, have implemented the following traffic restrictions during the three-day festival:

  • Friday, October 3 | 22:00–24:00 – Partial closure of Camil Petrescu Street. One lane will remain open from the 13 Decembrie roundabout to the intersection with Tudor Arghezi Street.
  • Saturday, October 4 | 09:00–11:00 – Partial closure (one car lane + bike lane) and some roundabouts and intersections on Nicolae Bălcescu, Castanilor, and 13 Decembrie Streets.
  • Saturday, October 4 | 08:00–11:00 & 16:00–22:00 – Full closure of Camil Petrescu Street from the 13 Decembrie roundabout to Tudor Arghezi Street.
  • Saturday, October 4 | 17:00–20:30 – Full closure of Tudor Arghezi Street.
  • Sunday, October 5 | 06:00–13:00 – Full closure of Camil Petrescu Street.
  • Sunday, October 5 | 08:30–13:00 – Full closure of Tudor Arghezi Street and partial closure of 13 Decembrie Street (toward Sânpetru), from the intersection with Camil Petrescu Street to Zaharia Stancu Street (toward 13 Decembrie Street from Tudor Arghezi).

For the smooth running of the event, one lane of Camil Petrescu Street (between 13 Decembrie and Tudor Arghezi) will remain closed from Friday, October 3 at 22:00 until Sunday, October 5 at 22:00.

Residents of Coresi neighborhood are strongly advised not to park on Tudor Arghezi and Camil Petrescu Streets on October 4-5. Vehicles left on the road may be towed to the We Play parking lot.

"Brașov has embraced our event since 2021, and we are thrilled to see the growing support and enthusiasm from local residents each year. While we aim to minimize traffic disruptions, we worked closely with local authorities to find the best solutions. This ensures the Brașov Running Festival takes place safely and with a great atmosphere. We are grateful to the community for their understanding and support and look forward to welcoming as many participants as possible to Romania’s premier running festival!"Daniel Santa, Director, Brașov Running Festival

For convenience and easier access, participants and spectators are encouraged to arrive early and use the Coresi Shopping Resort parking, which will remain accessible during the event. Additional parking is available near Tractorul Park on Turnului Street.

RATBV bus stops along the route will be temporarily out of service, with buses running on detour routes.
